Freed Hardeman University has been in the center of Henderson for 130 years. The Church of Christ-affiliated school is a fully accredited, four year university. It’s student body of more than 2,000 represent 30 states and 20 countries.

Some of the many events held are:

Annual Advisory Board Benefit Dinner

Held the 1st Friday in December, the campus is transformed into a Dickens-style holiday celebration with caroling, hot apple cider, thousands of twinkling lights, lanterns and luminaries, and horse and carriage rides. Guest speakers have included George Bush, 41st President of the United States, General H. Norman Schwarzkopf and television celebrity Regis Philbin. A sponsors dinner is held at 6 PM, and a sponsors reception at 9 PM, Freed-Hardeman’s Benefit Dinner is the largest single-night fund-raiser in the state of Tennessee.

Annual Sports Advisory Council Benefit

The primary fund raising event of the university's Sports Advisory Council, the evening features dinner served by FHU athletes and an auction of sports memorabilia, followed by a guest speaker. Recent speakers have been UT head football Coach Phil Fulmer, TN Titan Frank Wycheck and Baseball Hall of Fame, Lou Brock.

Making’ Music

Held annually in April, the musical extravaganza is one of the largest events held on campus, with around 8000 people attending. Campus social clubs compete for the best show with their student-run musical productions. Luncheons, competitions , craft fairs and many other activities makes this an enjoyable event to attend.

Bible Lectureship

The annual Bible Lectureship is held in February. Ministers, church leaders, and other serious students of the Bible attended the program, featuring nearly 100 speakers addressing timely issues.
